Hawks and Saints Meet Six TimesĀ

The Waterloo Black Hawks and Dubuque Fighting Saints each seek to claim the Dupaco Cowbell Cup during the 2020/21 season in a series which starts Saturday, December 5th at Mystique Ice Center in Dubuque.

The Hawks, Saints, and the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders have sought the trophy since it was established in 2011/12.  This year, the RoughRiders will not take the ice due to building damage caused by the August Derecho storm which moved through Iowa.  During the 2019/20 schedule, Waterloo and Dubuque were tied with 14 series points apiece when the season was halted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are very excited for Dupaco’s continued support of USHL hockey in eastern Iowa,” said Black Hawks President of Business Operations Joe Greene.  “This is a year which has stretched so many families and organizations in unexpected ways, so to have Dupaco and its members behind us, the Saints, and our fans provides a lift as we seek to both provide something special to our community and create an environment where some of the best hockey players in the world can develop their abilities.”

Dupaco Community Credit Union has offices located in Waterloo/Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids, and other communities in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin.  Dupaco helps to improve the financial lives of its member-owners while making a positive difference in the places it serves.

Points for the Dupaco Cowbell Cup will be awarded based head-to-head results: two for a win and one for an overtime or shootout loss.
