Home Preseason Games September 14th & 17th

The Waterloo Black Hawks will play exhibition games at Young Arena on Wednesday, September 14th and Saturday, September 17th, the team announced Thursday.

The tune-ups for the 2022/23 season are slated just over a week before the USHL Dicks Sporting Goods Fall Classic at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.

The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders visit Waterloo for the first home preseason contest at 7:05 p.m. on September 14th.  The RoughRiders will then make their way back to Commercial Street on three occasions during the regular campaign, including the annual Thanksgiving contest on November 24th.

The Hawks’ September 17th exhibition will begin at 3 p.m. against the Des Moines Buccaneers.  Des Moines will be Waterloo’s most prolific opponent in 2022/23 with eight scheduled meetings.  Since the Buccaneers entered the league in 1980, the teams have faced each other more than 230 times in the regular season.

Tickets for Black Hawks preseason games will be $10 apiece in all sections and will go on sale Wednesday, September 7th.  Season ticket holders will be admitted at no additional cost as one of the benefits of their season ticket package and do not have to do anything but download their season ticket package to get into the preseason games.  Information about seats still available for season tickets can be found at tickets.waterlooblackhawks.com or by calling the Black Hawks at (319) 232-3444.
