The Waterloo Black Hawks will open the 2018/19 United States Hockey League schedule against the Central Illinois Flying Aces and Omaha Lancers during the waning days of September as part of the USHL Fall Classic, the league announced Friday.
The matchups will be Friday, September 28th against Central Illinois at 4 p.m. Central Time and Saturday, September 29th versus Omaha at 4 p.m. Central.
This is the first time games during the Fall Classic have counted toward the USHL standings. Their addition to the regular season schedule has bumped the total number of matchups to 62 per team, the most on the league calendar since 2012/13.
The 2018 USHL Fall Classic will return to Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh, for the third consecutive season. All USHL games will be hosted at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex over four days from September 27th to 30th. The venue opened in the fall of 2015 and is the official practice facility of the NHL’s Pittsburgh Penguins. All 17 league clubs will attend.
The other 60 games on the Black Hawks 2018/19 schedule were revealed last Friday. Waterloo’s home schedule begins on Saturday, October 13th at Young Arena versus the Green Bay Gamblers.
Black Hawks 2018/19 season tickets are currently available for as little as $29 per month for adults and just $99 for the entire year for kids aged 12 and under. Single game tickets will go on sale later this summer. Fans will also be able to reserve the Budweiser Hospitality Area, as well as the new Lincoln Savings Bank and SingleSpeed Brewing Luxury Suites, during the coming weeks.
